Advent Mittens!
Happy Advent! I hope you had a very Happy Thanksgiving filled with love and laughter. Now we prepare for the birth of Baby Jesus. As we await this very special day we always look for ways we can help others. We would like for students in our class to bring mittens, gloves, or stocking hats to donate for children who do not have these items to keep them warm during the winter months. You can bring these items anytime between now and the 19th. At the end of this collection time we will have a special 'Mitten Party for Baby Jesus.' This class party will be on Dec. 19th at 2:45 p.m. What a great way to celebrate together before we begin our Christmas Break and the celebration of Christmas!
May God's peace be with you during this holy time.

Fr. Steve Visits!
We had a great time visiting with Fr. Steve Austin (our class 'adopted priest') from The Church of the Resurrection in Tulsa, Ok. He told us about being a priest and things he likes to do. He told us about his family. He has a sister that is a 'Sister!' (Sr. Barbara Austin OSB from St. Joseph Monastery in Tulsa.) We each got to tell Fr. Steve our name and something we like to do. He read 2 stories to us and stayed for lunch. He is very good at reading funny stories! Fr. Steve will be back to visit with us, read stories and teach us about the Mass, Baptism and many other things about being a Catholic. Mostly, he wants us to know how much Jesus loves each one of us!

Fire Safety
Thank you to these firefighters from Station 1 in B.A. for visiting our school!
We looked inside the fire truck and talked with a firefighter all dressed in his fire safety gear.
The firefighter checked to see if we knew about fire safety. We did great! "Stop, Drop, and Roll!" "Stay Low and Go!" "911!"
The firefighter talks about the ambulance and the equipment used to care for people.
Fire Safety with Nurse Jeanne
Thank you, Nurse Jeanne, for teaching us about Fire Safety. Hot doors, rooms filled with smoke, clothes on fire, safety plans, smoke alarms....so many things to learn and remember! But with Nurse Jeanne's help we learned so much!
Stop! Drop! Roll!
Room filled with smoke.......
Stay low and GO!
Crawl to safety!
